Over 15 million people are expected to visit Thailand in 2010, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). During the first 11 months of the year, the TAT has recorded the arrival of 14.03 million visitors - a rise of 12.63 per cent compared to the same period in 2009, reports the Thai News Agency.
TAT governor Surapol Sawetseranee believes that the number of visitors will total 1.3 million in December, bringing the total for the year up to 15.7 million.
In particular, the governor believes there has been a rise in travellers taking flights to the region as the country offers new holiday experiences and good tourist services.
